I joined REAL Broker a little over a year ago. As I think back on this past year, I realize that decision has had some pretty major positive impacts on my overall life, not just my business.
First, is just with its culture and its community. With REAL, I can network and mastermind with agents around the country using Workplace and have made some great friends doing just this. Last year I went on two separate in-person masterminds to connect with many of these agents I met through the company. One in a beach house in North Carolina and another mastermind/snowboarding trip in Colorado. As a divorced father, of course, I enjoy going on trips like this and connecting with other like-minded agents. They are good for growing my business but also just my mental health overall.
The second way REAL has impacted my life is with its low cap and fees. I’m saving a little over $20,000 a year compared to my last brokerage. That works out to about 2 fewer transactions a year I need to do but still make the same amount of money. If we estimate it takes about 50 hours of work to close 1 transaction, then that means at REAL I instantly get an extra 100 hours a year with my son! As a divorced father of a child with disabilities, this is huge for me, and my number one priority at the moment is to spend as much time with my son as I can.
The third is with Revenue Share. REAL offers all of its agents an additional stream of income for helping grow the company. Since I’ve joined REAL, my downline has grown to 26 real estate agents. For me, this additional stream of income is less time intensive than going on appointments and something I can focus on while working from home and watching my son. So again, this allows me to spend more time with my son compared to previous years in my business which is huge for me.
The fourth way REAL has impacted my life is with all the free stock it gives to its agents. Having my entire life savings cut in half at age 35 during my divorce, including my home equity and 401k, is a heck of a setback. Now my ex-wife did help me get to where I’m at and does deserve her half, but it’s still a huge setback.
Luckily for me, REAL wants its agent to have ownership in the company so much that they give us free stock in the company! First when you pay your $12k cap, REAL gives you 750 shares of stock. When you attract an agent to the company, they give you 250 shares and if you buy their stock directly out of your commissions, REAL will give you up to 30% free bonus stock.

All of this is helping me rebuild my wealth and it’s in a sector I think is going to do very well over the next 5 years, cloud real estate brokerages.
So in the end, I’m very grateful I made the switch over to REAL last year. My only regret is just not making the switch sooner!
