Buying a D.R. Horton New Construction Home in Maryland

If you think a new home by D.R. Horton is right for you, you have two options.

The first is you can purchase a resale home built by D.R. Horton within one of their many Maryland communities. Many of these homes will be a few years old and you will be buying directly from the homeowner. The advantage of purchasing a resale home is you will most likely have more homes to choose from and may be able to get a slightly better deal because the home has been lived in. The second option is you can purchase a new home directly from the builders. The advantage to this is you will be the only people who have ever lived in the home and will be able to fully take advantage of the home warranty provided to you. D.R. Horton does things a little differently from other builders. They fully design their homes and choose the finishes and updates for you.  They only make the homes available to tour and purchase after they are mostly through the construction phase and at least have drywall up.  This model allows D.R. Horton to deliver homes to its purchasers in as little as 2 months.  This is significantly faster than most new construction builders in Maryland who typically take 6 to 9 months to deliver a newly built home to you after you sign a contract.
